Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire with Claire Thomas
Friday 1st to Sunday 3rd October 2021
Step away from the demands of daily life in the heart of the Calder Valley.
In the few days after the Autumn Equinox, we will come together to honour ourselves and the changing seasons. There will be yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra interspersed with short periods of silence.
At a time of balance and harmony in the natural world, the weekend is a wonderful way to connect with the energy of the changing seasons. A time for rest, recuperation and personal reflection, Autumn helps to prepare us for the darker months of the year. Over the weekend, you will be encouraged to slow down and enjoy some much needed time and space in life.
Want to know more...
Our base for the weekend is a beautiful private hostel, a short walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge. The hostel is light, spotlessly clean and has a warm, welcoming feel. A home from home, it is the perfect location for our time together.
The weekend will follow the routine of simple ashram style living. With arrival from 5:00pm on Friday afternoon, we will begin with yoga and yoga nidra before dinner. Each day will start with early morning yoga, pranayama and meditation. During the day there will be further yoga practice, teachings and time for questions.
On Saturday afternoon, there will be some free time to rest, curl up in the snug, wander in to Hebden Bridge or take a stroll in the surrounding countryside. On Saturday evening we will share a meal together in a local veggie or vegan restaurant. We spend a lot of time researching the best option 😉
The weekend will close at 3pm on Sunday afternoon.
Accommodation is twin-share in comfortable, en-suite rooms.
All meals are included along with dinner on Saturday night. Food is wholesome, home cooked and vegetarian, served with locally baked breads, home made cakes, fruit and herbal teas. Please advise with your booking if you have any food intolerances.
Bring your usual yoga clothes, mat and blanket, along with a towel and toiletries. The hostel is a shoe free zone. We usually pad around in slippers or woolly socks.
As the hostel is up a hill, flat shoes are recommended for dinner on Saturday evening. Hebden Bridge is a little alternative and quite down to earth, so no need to dress for dinner!
To confirm your space, please follow the booking link. A non-refundable deposit of £125 is due immediately, with the balance of the retreat payable by 15th August 2021.
Please note: Due to covid restrictions, final numbers for this year's autumn retreat have yet to be finalised. Any bookings after 14/02/21 will be offered a full refund if appropriate. For further info please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Left it too late to book a residential space? We can arrange local accommodation a few minutes walk from the hostel on your behalf.
