What Is Menopause Yoga?

Menopause Yoga brings together practices from Hatha & Yin Yoga; Ayurveda & Traditional Chinese Medicine; Meditation & Mindfulness; along with CBT & Positive Psychology, to offer women a toolkit of techniques, to support their wellbeing during the menopause years.

Developed by Petra Coveney over the last 10+ years, Petra is a member of the British Menopause Society and has worked with hundreds of women - in circles and 1:1 - to develop a series of practices which can help support you on your journey.

I completed Menopause Yoga Teacher Training with Petra and a fabulous group of other women in September 2023. At 51 years old and in the Autumn season of my menopause, I can't wait to share all that I've learned on this incredible course, to help inform, empower and inspire your Second Spring.

Menopause Yoga Circle - Saturday 13th July - Spalding, Lincolnshire

Recognised in Traditional Chinese Medicine as a woman's 'Second Spring', in the West, we have a medicalised view of the menopause and often shy away from talking openly about the impact it has upon us as.

As our reproductive hormones decline, the rhythms of our cycle - and life - can be turned on their heads, leaving us feeling overwhelmed and out of sorts. Many women say they lose their way in life. Whether you're pre-, peri or post menopausal, you are most welcome to join us. All experiences are welcome.

Facilitated by Claire Thomas, an experienced and compassionate, trauma informed Hatha Yoga & Menopause Yoga teacher, these circles are offered as a safe and supportive space to inform, empower and inspire your journey. Each session includes an opening circle and intention setting, a full Menopause Yoga class and exploration of a menopause related theme.

In this circle, we'll be diving into the subject of hot flushes and cold sweats. Each circle includes time to share our experiences. We'll discuss what may exacerbate symptoms and and consider practices which can help alleviate the effects.

The circles are open to anyone born with a womb. Please wear warm, comfortable, clothing and bring a cosy blanket for relaxation. You're welcome to arrive early for a cuppa and a chat. There will also be cake to nourish and nurture you.
