Step away from the demands of daily life in the heart of the Calder Valley. Over the weekend of the Vernal Equinox, we will come together to mark the passing of Winter and celebrate the new beginnings of Spring. There will be yoga asana, pranayama, meditation and yoga nidra interspersed with short periods of silence.

A time of balance and personal growth, the weekend is a wonderful way to connect with the energy of the changing seasons. As the natural world comes alive around us, it is the perfect time to make plans for the year ahead. Balancing our personal desires with the demands placed upon us, can help bring a greater sense of clarity, harmony and joy to our lives.

Our base for the weekend is a beautiful private hostel, a short walk from the centre of Hebden Bridge. The hostel is light, spotlessly clean and has a warm, welcoming feel. A home from home, it is the perfect location for our time together.

The weekend will follow the routine of simple ashram style living. With arrival from 5:00pm on Friday afternoon, we will begin with yoga and yoga nidra before dinner. Each day will start with early morning yoga, pranayama and meditation. During the day there will be further yoga practice, teachings and time for questions.

On Saturday afternoon, there will be some free time to rest, curl up in the snug, wander in to Hebden Bridge or take a stroll in the surrounding countryside. On Saturday evening we will share a meal together in a local vegetarian restaurant – those of you who have joined us in previous years will know just how fabulous the food is!!

The weekend will close at 3pm on Sunday.

What's included?

Accommodation is twin-share in cosy, en-suite rooms.

All meals are included along with dinner on Saturday night. Food is wholesome, home cooked and vegetarian, served with locally baked breads, home made cakes, fruit and herbal teas. Please advise with your booking if you have any food intolerances.

Bring your usual yoga clothes, mat and blanket, along with a towel and toiletries. The hostel is a shoe free zone. We usually pad around in slippers or woolly socks. As the hostel is up a hill, flat shoes are recommended for dinner on Saturday evening. Hebden Bridge is a little alternative and quite down to earth so no need to dress for dinner!

How to find Hebden Bridge

Hebden Bridge sits half way between Manchester and Leeds on the A646 between Halifax and Burnley. It is around 30 minutes drive from the M62 in either direction. The hostel is located less than a mile from the centre of Hebden Bridge and can be reached by car using the postcode HX7 8DG. If you prefer to use public transport, there is a train station in Hebden Bridge.

If you're travelling from some distance, it can be nice to arrive in Hebden Bridge earlier in the day to avoid the Friday traffic and enjoy pottering around the local independent shops and cafes.
